For a truly unique experience, there is no place like Sun Pictures. This is the world’s oldest operating outdoor cinema, and stepping through its gates feels like stepping back in time. You sit on a deck chair under a vast sky, with the stars twinkling above you as the movie plays on the screen. The sound of a plane flying overhead or the distant cry of a bird simply adds to the charm. It’s an enchanting and nostalgic way to spend a warm evening, a living piece of history that continues to create beautiful memories.
The Staircase to the Moon
This, my friends, is Broome’s most famous night performance. On two or three nights each month, when the conditions are just right, the full moon rises over the exposed tidal flats of Roebuck Bay. As the moonlight reflects off the mud, it creates a spectacular illusion of a shimmering staircase leading all the way to the moon. Many people gather at the Mangrove Hotel or Town Beach to watch this incredible phenomenon.
